Neuss/Germany, March 2023 – Toshiba Tec Germany Imaging Systems GmbH announces a personnel change in the top management: After 38 years in the industry, 27 of them with Toshiba, Toshiba Tec President & COO (Chief Operating Officer) Michael Becker (63) is taking his planned early retirement on March 31, 2023.
Toshiyuki Tokuno, CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of Toshiba Tec in Neuss since October 2022, will in future be the sole President of the company.
Harald Bönig, General Manager of the Germany/Austria division since July 2010, will be appointed as new Vice President of Toshiba Tec in Neuss as of April 1st, 2023. In this function he will not only be responsible for the business in Germany and Austria, but also for the Toshiba Tec companies in Belgium and Switzerland. The international distributor business remains the responsibility of Kathrin Maske, General Manager International Distribution Division.
Harald Bönig: “Michael Becker has done outstanding things for this company. To name just one milestone: Our own development department ITAMS would not exist if he had not recognised the signs of the times a few years ago and vehemently campaigned for its establishment. The two of us have been working together since I started at Toshiba in 1988, which is now 35 years. Throughout this time, he has always had the welfare of the company, and at the same time the welfare of the employees in mind. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to him for this. We very much regret his departure and wish him all the best for the new chapter in his life. We will continue to run the business in his spirit.”
Michael Becker's departure marks the end of a decade-long era at Toshiba:
Between 1986 and 2000, the graduate in business administration held various sales positions at Toshiba, most recently as Sales Director for the Germany division (Electronic Imaging Division). After working ten years as Managing Director outside the group, Michael Becker returned to Toshiba in April 2010 as President & COO.
