Circular Economy

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.

The idea of a circular economy is based on a very simple fact. We live on a planet with limited resources – which includes the ability of our environment to deal with pollution. If resources are limited and emissions need to be avoided, then growth cannot remain unlimited. The impending global warming and its consequences force all of us in industry, politics and society to act.

This is why Toshiba offers solutions for the sustainable use of resources. Our products and services offer many opportunities and innovations towards the reuse of materials. The number of materials used in our devices is kept as low as possible, are recyclable and can be easily dismantled with 3 tools only.

Our commitment to circularity extends to toner cartridge recycling and reuse. We prioritise relieving end users by collecting used cartridges, ensuring minimal waste production.

Energy efficient product design, service that covers the entire life cycle of a product and the avoidance of packaging waste are what make up the circular 3R-Design: Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.

Today, at least 50% of components used in similar printer devices are identical and 95% of our multifunction printer can be recycled or even reused. The vision that accompanies a circular economy is that of a completely regenerative global supply chain that functions without using up limited resources.

CleanHub Collaboration

Sustainability is a core part of our corporate philosophy and we work to limit our environmental impact to achieve a lasting, recycling-based society. Toshiba Tec is continuously working towards a sustainable future. Through our environmentally conscious products, our contribution to a circular economy and our partnerships, we strive to support the Corporate Social Responsibility goals and the commitments of our customers.

One such partnership is our collaboration with CleanHub to reduce plastic pollution. Toshiba Tec partners with CleanHub to safeguard the environment by actively preventing plastic waste from polluting oceans and vulnerable natural areas, focusing on high-risk regions in South and Southeast Asia.

CleanHub works with local communities to establish waste collection points, benefiting over 100,000 households. Their third-party-approved platform provides real-time tracking and ensures sustainable waste processing with full transparency.
